do a lot, get not much of anywhere, lose the will to do anything, suddenly learn a million new things and do something incredible, keep learning, don’t get too much further, hate self again for it, but then create something far beyond your expectations again, rinse and repeat

right now i’m riding the wave of just feeling like i’ve made a significant leap with my work, and not all that long ago i was in the BOOHOO MY ASS state so hey

Yep, this sums me up.

I have a lot of art downtime in the fall/winter and while stuff gets done it’s usually not that great. Work takes a nose-dive in November. Cut to spring/summer and suddenly the quality of my work and my work ethic shoots through the roof. I think partially it’s because winter is super stressful (family shit, seasonal depression, holidays) and I can’t take time to really reflect on what I’m learning. 

As an aside: I found it really bizarre that I started working in flash again, the first time since ‘08, and yet I remembered how to use again very quickly AND produced something way cooler then I ever did in school. Maybe it’s because my teachers relied way too much on symbols and were more into the ‘puppet’ method of flash, which I’m really, really not into. Who knows.
