God damn it eating is so miserable and painful when you don’t have six years worth of plaque protecting your nerve endings.
AND CAVITIES.
UGH MY NAKED CAVITIES.
owww. Also, GOD THAT WAS THE SCARIEST REN AND STIMPY EPISODE OF ALL
This was my alternate image choice:
This was my experience with braces.
5 years of braces.
i also had braces for a LONG while and still have some weird piece of metal on the back of my bottom teeth
this is the only country where braces are recommended for even very small deviations. everywhere else they’re considered non-essential or vanity cosmetic surgery (outside of severe issues of course). america has some weird teeth fixation.
i couldn’t give less of a fuck about how straight or white someone’s teeth are, they are hideous horrifying bones jutting out of the hole on your face, they are used for tearing up and crushing dead animals flesh and plants.
Agree.
Cut for BLAH BLAH BLAH
I’m against cosmetic surgery for minor imperfections. I’ve witnessed too much footage of cosmetic surgeons pushing for alterations people don’t need, criticizing someones looks and blowing something minor wayyyy out of proportion. Of course not all cosmetic surgeons pressure their patients, and cosmetic/reconstructive procedures can be helpful and necessary in many instances- but there is a subculture surrounding it that really, really grosses me out. People can do whatever they want with their body, but it’s something else entirely when they change their looks as the result of body shaming from other people.
Back to teeth: Was one of those dumb kids who wouldn’t stop sucking their thumb. By the time I was in 5th grade my teeth were a mess and hindered my ability to talk. My palate was warped and I had severe buck teeth.
Finally got it all fixed after five years of braces. Got some scarring in my mouth from a couple of the wires and there are permanent white marks on some of my teeth from the metal. Palate is still a little warped, so I have to deal with a minor lateral lisp. MY PARENTS WARNED ME TO STOP SUCKING MY THUMB, I WOULDN’T LISTEN.
Ok that really had nothing to do with the ethics of cosmetic procedures, I just wanted to talk about how fucked up my teeth were. 9w6
P.S. Anyone remember The Swan reality show? Because it was basically the worst most disgusting thing ever.
